This is a one-of-a-kind showpiece tiny house. Built in Montague, MA by professional carpenters, this is a dream tiny house for anyone who appreciates fine woodworking and craftsmanship. The interior is finished in beautiful birch and maple with hand cut joinery and sharp modern details. The kitchen features a full gas range, custom made cabinetry, deep stainless steel sink, and a built-in dish rack. With three floor to ceiling windows, the solarium/living room lets in constant natural light.
The stunning open riser stairs take up as little room as a ladder without sacrificing the accessibility of a staircase. The loft fits a queen or king sized bed with extra space and head height from the two dormers. The bathroom features waterproof cork floors, a compost toilet, and a 48” maple slab counter. The cedar and mahogany shower is a highlight of the natural wood interior.
The tiny house is sided in solid hemlock clapboard. The door is reclaimed solid fir, and has been completely restored, including new double pane glass. The door handle and heart pine floors were recovered from an 1860s Victorian in Northampton, MA. It is designed with a high performance vapor open building envelope, including rain screen and air seal. The subfloor is insulated with 4” of rigid foam above the trailer frame to negate thermal bridging and moisture buildup. The 2×6 walls are insulated with rockwool. The standing seam metal roof is sleek and durable and will last for years to come.
